We’re a local Santa Clarita crew, not a call center that dispatches strangers. Every technician who pulls up to your home in Valencia, Canyon Country, Saugus, or Newhall works here, lives nearby, and answers to Marco Benitez directly. We run background checks on everyone we hire, put them through factory training on nine major brands, and hold every job to The Garrison Standard. That’s the short version. Here’s the long one: the actual people.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Marco Benitez, Owner & Lead HVAC Technician
Marco founded Dalton Heating & Air Santa Clarita in 2003 and still runs service calls most weeks. He’s factory-trained on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard, which means he can diagnose a refrigerant leak on a Lennox in Valencia the same morning he quotes a Goodman furnace swap in Saugus. Before HVAC, Marco worked construction in the San Fernando Valley, and he’ll tell you the best training was learning what happens when a job gets rushed. That’s why he wrote The Garrison Code: arrive inside the stated window, price in writing before starting, do the job by the book, leave the site clean, and stand behind the work for a full year. He lives in Santa Clarita with a truck that has too many miles and a garage that’s never once had a working AC unit of its own. Ask him about it and he’ll say priorities.
Dan R., Senior Installer
Dan has seventeen years in residential HVAC installation, the last nine of them in Santa Clarita. He leads heat pump installations and full system replacements, and he’s the guy who makes sure the line set is run clean, the pad is level, and the permit sticker ends up in the right spot. Dan is EPA 608 certified and Trane comfort specialist trained. He’s also the crew’s unofficial weather watcher, because installing a condenser on a 105-degree Saugus afternoon changes how you sequence the work. Dan’s rule is simple: if he wouldn’t put it in his own house, it doesn’t go in yours. His own house has a heat pump he installed in 2019. It’s still dead quiet.
Lena F., Service Coordinator
Lena is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m. when your furnace quits and the house is dropping toward 50 degrees. She’s been dispatching HVAC service in the Santa Clarita Valley for eight years, and she knows the difference between a real emergency and a call that can wait until morning. Lena builds the daily routes, keeps the techs on schedule, and makes sure every job gets a written price before any work starts. When a repair doesn’t hold, she’s the one who books the free return visit under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. She can usually tell you which technician is coming, what they drive, and roughly when they’ll arrive. If she says Marco will call you back by noon, he calls by 11:40.
Carlos M., Apprentice Technician
Carlos is in his second year with Dalton Heating & Air Santa Clarita, training under Marco and Dan. He’s already passed his EPA 608 certification and is working toward full factory certification on Bryant and Rheem systems. Carlos handles a lot of the maintenance visits: filter checks, capacitor testing, drain line clearing, blower motor inspections. He’s fast, but more importantly, he’s thorough, and every ticket he closes gets reviewed by Marco before the job is marked done. Carlos grew up in Canyon Country and knows the older neighborhoods well. He’s also the reason our trucks are clean at the start of every morning, which he claims is a safety issue. It probably is.
One Standard, Every Job
Every technician on this page works under The Garrison Standard, and that’s not a slogan. It means the price is in writing before any work starts, on every single job, no exceptions. It means every repair comes with a written guarantee for a full year, and if the repair fails within that year, we return at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it applies to a capacitor swap in Newhall the same way it applies to a full heat pump installation in Valencia. The crew reviews The Garrison Code every morning: show up inside the window, price it before you touch it, do it by the book, leave the site clean, stand behind the work. When you call Dalton Heating & Air Santa Clarita at (661) 621-3712, you’re not rolling dice on who shows up. You’re getting one of these four people, trained and background-checked, with a standard behind them that’s been in place since 2003.
